We are a community farm and garden in Madison Georgia. Our garden is subdivided into separate plots for each family participating in the harvest. Plots are leased on an annual basis for a small fee. The Community Garden offers advice and loans tools for planting. Each family is responsible for maintaining their plot, fertilizing, watering and weeding. Water is provided on the site.
Our garden is open and spring harvest is underway! We have been very busy installing irrigation, deer fencing, constructing raised garden beds, and adding quality soil. We have added a covered pavilion and a tool shed with shared garden tools available to our users.
Our mission
Fifth Street Community Garden strives to be a welcoming place that celebrates the uniqueness and diversity of our community. We foster personal interaction linked with gardening practices that increase local food sources, including donations to local food pantries. We are deeply committed to enhancing community resilience and providing educational opportunities for young and old inspired by a vision of sustainability that honors and protects our earth.
