Fifth Street Garden starting to grow

“Madison’s Fifth Street Community Garden held a “soft opening” Saturday in the form of a “Meet and Greet” at both the garden and at the St. Paul AME Church.

The garden, a community garden which currently has 32 raised beds donated and constructed by the Rotary Club of Morgan County, is the brainchild of Fifth Street Community Garden President Sally Fowler. Fowler said Saturday’s event, that included music, raffle drawings, dancing and an introduction to the community garden concept “couldn’t have been better.”
