Boys and Girls Club “VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR”

Sally Fowler, our Visionary and founding President of the Board, was recognized by the Boys & Girls Club of North Central Georgia for the educational efforts and ongoing commitment of Fifth Street Community Garden.

Ms. Fowler remarked, “It is quite an honor to accept this award for all of the volunteers that have worked so hard this year to make sure we achieved our initial goals for providing quality lessons to the boys and girls of the club. We have larger plans for the coming year, and even more is planned when the garden itself is open for gardening. The boys and girls will have their own plot in the community garden where they can learn to sow, grow, cook, and eat their own food.”
